It was an absolute privilege and joy to be a part of Fiona and Zack's wedding day at the forever glorious @thebarnonwalnuthill last July.

What many people don't know is that my dear mom had a daycare for nearly 40 years called Child Haven Farm. She started the business when we moved as a family to Maine from my hometown in Barre,Vermont. My parents and sister crafted the business so well over time, and it flourished when we moved the business and our family to Walnut Hill in 1991. Fiona was one of hundreds of children we were gifted to care for, and seeing her on her wedding weekend at this very special place with her incredible partner Zack and their family was absolute bliss. We have come full circle, and it is an honor to carry on my family's legacy of supporting and caring for others in life and being of service. Thank you, @rachelbellphotography, for capturing their day so beautifully and to this incredible vendor team for loving on them with such heart. Congratulations, Fiona + Zack!

Weekend wedding vibes keeping everyone close is essential for our couples and families, and history makes it PERFECT. Sydney shared:

"It was really important to us, as much as it was feasible, to have all our friends and family in one place throughout the entire weekend! We wanted it to feel like we were truly having one giant sleepover with our most favorite people. The Samoset Resort was that and more. We were able to have our welcome party, ceremony, reception, and after-party all on various parts of the property. And let's talk about the property! I am from Maine and grew up going on daddy-daughter weekends at the Samoset with my dad and sister, Abby. It has always remained a special place to us, and we have fond and cherished memories from weekends spent by the sea, walking out to the lighthouse, and unwinding it what feels like a slice of Maine heaven. When I met my now husband, Drew, at Bowdoin College, it only felt right that we found a venue in Midcoast Maine, near to where our story started."

Making new memories in a place that holds so many beautiful ones already is bittersweet. Stories told, stories felt, stories never forgotten.

We had the absolute honor of planning and designing with this incredible family and vendor team to see this beautiful day through. Ellery was taken from this physical world much too soon, but she will forever live on through all those who had the privilege of knowing her. While I personally did not know this special girl and her family before this, I feel connected in so very many ways, and it's as though we have known each other all along. We are so very grateful for the many ways this experience touched our hearts, gave us strength, and allowed us to work so closely with this amazing family and absolutely fantastic vendor team. Without them and their kindness, this event could not have been as meaningful and as well executed. Every single one gave their very best so that the family could process this unimaginable and unexpected loss. Thanks will never be enough, and Ellery will live on in all of our hearts forever.
